• SBBS mysteriously stopping

    From Mojo@1:103/705 to DOVE-Net.Synchronet_Sysops on Wed Jul 29 08:34:58 2026
Over the last month or so I realized that my sbbs has been just
stopping. I have to manually restart it every day.

Nothing in any of the logs. No errors no crashes nothing.

I decided to run it manually in the foreground and watch them memory to
see if I get any clues.

    Anyone else ever experienced this?

First, make sure you have core dumps enabled and working. If already do, look for core dumps.

Second, your PID says you're running Synchronet 3.21a-Linux master/c1820d521 Oct 31 2025 GCC 12.2.0 - a lot of fixes, especially in the web server, (and one formal release) have been made since then. You should update.

Not without it leaving a core behind. If you're on Linux, you may need to configure your user to drop a core, or maybe there is one you've not spotted?
